When you get sat with a table it is your mission to be funny, kind, and helpful. I like to typically start off with "Hey, guys how are we doing tonight?" It is so very frustrating when they reply "Diet Coke" or don't even look up at me let alone reply. I typically go back to the kitchen looking something like that.
I can't stand when people do the "Diet Coke" thing! It was my pet peeve. My conversations used to go:
ReplyDeleteME: "Good evening, how we doin today?"
HER (It was usually a her): "Dr. Pepper."
ME: "I felt pretty Dr. Pepper yesterday, allergies and all. I'm back to Pepsi for now but that might change."
HER: *Evil Look*
ME: Stupid jokes or minor conversation. Choice is yours.
